Fun Birthday Photos in the Strip District | Pittsburgh, PA

A woman sitting on stairs in the Strip District in Pittsburgh, PA.

This photoshoot was absolutely amazing!! This session was something different than my typical photoshoot. I'm primarily a Pittsburgh Family Photographer, so I'm usually taking photos of a family in a park or field. But this session was totally unique. And different is always fun - I love when I get to do something that's not my typical photos! My sister came to me wanting to do a photoshoot for her birthday. She wanted it in an urban area and wanted to be a little extra. I new that the Strip District in Pittsburgh would be the perfect backdrop for her photos.

Why is the Strip District a great option for urban photos?

Well, for one - there's so much variety. There's The Terminal, so many cool alleys you can go down, walls with colorful murals, and lots of great architecture. It's basically a photographer's dream. We went during golden hour - the hour before sunset, which is by far the best time to take photos. It wasn't crowded at all, and we just had FUN. The best way to get photos you love from your session is to have fun and just be yourself. It can be hard to relax during a photoshoot - the vast majority of my clients say that they aren't photogenic and awkward in pictures. And then they get photos that are absolutely gorgeous and natural. We took some traditional branding photos, and then we got a little creative, which so SO FUN. That's truly when I do my best work.

It's so important to preserve life's fleeting moments through beautiful photographs! I am a Pittsburgh family photographer who tells your story through images that are joyful, raw, and connected. I serve Pittsburgh, PA and the surrounding areas, including Ross Township, McCandless, Hampton Township, Allison Park, Gibsonia, and more.
