Fall family photos are so magical. And this night, with this family was just perfection. It was late October with rare warm weather and a relaxed, fun family - all the elements for a perfect fall family photo session. This particular session was my first time at Sewickley Borough Heights Park, and WOW. I'm adding it to my regular rotation of family photo locations. Sewickley Borough Heights Park didn't disappoint - it was absolutely stunning. This family session was in the last week of October, which I find to usually be a safe bet for peak fall colors around Pittsburgh. And what was even more fun was the addition of this family's puppy in their photos.
My family photography is all about connection over perfection. I'm not looking to get the perfect pose. I'm looking to get the unique connection you have with those you love. The joy. The excitement. The love. It's all there right in front of your eyes - and my camera. And I love documenting it.
I mean, look at these colors!! You can't get any more beautiful and vibrant than this. What I also love is this family's color palette. This is a great example of how to choose complimentary colors for your family session wardrobe instead of matching. It just makes your photos come together so nicely.
I've photographed this family many times over the past 3-4 years, and they always end up being some of my favorite photos of the year. Why? Because they trust me as their photographer. They listen to direction and are so relaxed through the process. They have fun! Which is always the goal. It's so common to have nerves going into family photos, but my job is to put your mind at ease.
